Bitpalace backs up all your databases, files, e-mails/mailboxes and server configuration daily and retains the backups for at least 14 days. Your data can be restored from any of these backups 14 days in arrears. However, you are responsible for your own data. Despite all the care and highest technical standards it cannot be ruled out that a backup is faulty. It is best practice that you also keep a copy of your data yourself.

If you want to create your own MySQL/MariaDB database dumps, use any of these methods:

a) Log in to the customer control panel of your web space. Click on the “Databases” tab. Click on the “Export Dump” icon of the database that you want to back-up. The dump can be stored to your web space or can be downloaded.

b) Log in to the customer control panel of your web space. Click on the “Databases” tab. Click on the “phpmyAdmin” icon. In phpMyAdmin click on the “export” menu. Here you can configure what to export and what format to choose. You can export all of your database, specific tables only, their structure or their data and more.

c) Log in to the customer control panel of your web space. Click on the “Account” tab. Then click on “Backup Web Sites” and from there „Back Up“. Check the “User files and databases” box, select the type of backup and the backup location. This backup can be done automatically, regularly at preset times.

d) Use your own PHP script. A functioning example script can be downloaded from the link below. Simply enter your own database access credentials. You can run this script automatically, regularly (create a scheduled task in the customer control panel).
